Round Phases
Reset
Reset closes the round. Each active airline acknowledges the phase, then the game resolves the following steps.
1. Check victory
If at least one non-bankrupt airline has 10 or more dividends, the game ends and the victory ranking selects the winner. The ranking is calculated in this order:
- Most dividends.
- Most cash.
- Most routes.
- Random order if all three values are tied.
The highest-ranked eligible airline wins. Victory is checked before bankruptcy processing, so an airline that reaches 10 dividends in a round is included even if that round leaves it with negative cash. If several airlines qualify, this ranking decides the winner.
2. Process bankruptcy
If nobody has won, every airline with negative cash is declared bankrupt. Its routes are removed, its gates return to the unowned pool, and it leaves the active turn order. Remaining route competition, network factors, profits, airport fullness, and summaries are recalculated.
An airline with zero cash is not bankrupt. Bankruptcy requires cash below $0 at Reset.
3. Prepare the next round
The remaining airlines are reordered for the next round using:
- Highest total route operating profit.
- Most gates.
- Highest net profit.
- Most cash.
There is no additional scored tiebreaker when all four values match. Use the turn order displayed in the game for tied airlines.
If the game is still in Pioneering, the game enters Maturity when an airline has at least 5 routes and nonnegative cash after the Reset updates. The next round then begins with Airline Development in the new order.
